Description
XF 18KT Gold Coin NASA 1st Steps On the Moon 16.2 Grams XF 18KT Gold Coin NASA 1st Steps On the Moon 16.2 Grams Incredible 18 karat gold Franklin Mint coin or pendant, in it's original packaging. It has been touched by human hands, but it is flawless and in virtually perfect condition. It is 33mm in diameter (not including the bale) weighing 16.2 grams, or .52 troy ounces of 18 karat gold. The certificate of authenticity, which comes with the package reads, "This is to certify that the Franklin Mint "First Steps On the Moon" Eyewitness Pendant bearing the personal mark of sculptor Gilry Roberts was struck in limited edition and only in precious metals." On the front of the coin is Neil Armstrong walking off of the Apollo onto the surface of the moon, taking his first steps, with his immortal words (and the correct version thereof) "One small step for a man. One giant leap for mankind," with the year 1969. The reverse of the coin, with its 18kt hallmark, is an engravement of the plaque left on the moon, includes two maps of the world, in relief, along with names and signatures of Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, Buzz Armstrong, and President Richard Nixon. Beautiful, beautiful coin. Check out my other auctions! Postage and handling is $5.00 within the US Other nations, please inquire. Insurance is also an optional extra, and highly recommended, at $4.00. Fifty cent discount for every additional combined winning auction.
