This auction is for a very nice collection of old and vintage coins that a US soldier collected during World War II. He fought with Australian forces in the New Guinea area and traveled quite a bit between countries. He also traded coins and such with other soldiers, so his collection is really interesting. There are coins from all over, including Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Fiji and many more. I see some VERY old coins here, including a 1852 Bank of Upper Canada Bank Token, a 1890 British North Borneo copper coin, a 1908 British Straights Settlement coin, and many old Asian coins. I also see that he added a couple 1960s coins (two or three) from areas that he went to during the war. There are a total of 56 coins here and they are all in their own coin holder and then put into photo album pages. Originally, I was going to sell it with the paper currency collection I have listed, and they were inside that binder, but figured someone might want the coins and someone else would want the paper. Very nice! Might be some key coins in here – I have no idea what to look for and none have been removed. Bidder pays $7.00 for shipping and handling via USPS Mail within the United States.
