There is a similiar token listed in Hal Birt's "Arizona Tokens And Scrip" book. The listed token is round, brass and reads: "The Grand Billiard Parlor-Van-Phoenix, good for 2 1/2 " and is an R-9. The token listed for sale is also brass, is an eight scalloped design and reads: "Grand Billiard Parlor-Van's-good for 12 1/2. This token was metal detected around 1994 at the site of the old Phoenix Brewery excavation. It has some corrosion and oxydation. It is also slightly bent and has been cleaned. The token is thin, the lettering is worn but legible. The photos are a good indicator of condition which can be called "Fair" by my estimation. Please realize that I have tried to describe the token as accurately as possible so that the buyer understands what they are purchasing as I wish to build a good reputation and receive positive feedback.
