Description The Grenville County Bank, Prescott, Canada West, Uncut Proof Sheet, consisting of the $1, $2, $5, and $10, 1856, CH#330-10-02P, -04P, -06P, -08P, respectively. The four proofs are printed on heavy card, with heavy embossing and deep black ink. You can feel the raised printing on these pristine proofs. The back of the sheet is stamped, 4 times, "Specimen, Property of American Bank Note Co." At the bottom is written an internal control number, 875-E-3. The picture offered is a photo done by my camera. I have also enclosed scans of the notes in pairs and the back.Charlton makes reference to reprints being offered as proofs to unsuspecting collectors, but this refers to the $1 Interpam reprints only. Charlton also makes reference to a plate that survived. However, that plate was in possession of the American Banknote Company.This sheet is thought to be unique. Not one example was represented in any of the first three American Banknote Company sales by Christies. This sheet was probably printed from an ABNC plate in the 1950's and 1960's.
