Description
Black Eagle silver certificates were distributed from the BEP in cut-and-trim packs, not entire sheets. The ONLY sheets that exist (currently 3 known valued around $50,000 each) were provided as samples and were low serial numbers. The note offered today is UNIQUE, one-of-a-kind. For your consideration is the bottom note from a sheet with the sheet number 13066 shown below the note. The note was hand-torn from the sheet as evidenced from the top edge. It has a few very light creases. Based on the high serial number on this note (early numbered sheets were used as samples), my guess is that an employee at the BEP in haste, tore this note from the sheet, folded it up, and walked out with it -- but I could be wrong. Note specifics:1899 Black Eagle silver certificate, FR-226A (date below), Lyons-Roberts signatures, serial #A2482826, technical grade of XF/AU (looks unc). Comes in protective hard Capitol Plastics holder. Est value $5K and up. Item will be shipped registered mail or is available for pickup with prior arrangements. Check our feedback -- over 3000+ positives, 99.6%!We stand behind all mounted coins and currency we sell, so we offer a 14-day (from our mailing date) money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied (send us an email prior to returning an item). Any returned coins/currency must be in their original, untampered holders (our mounts or "slabbed"). However, roll lots or loose bags/boxes of coins are not returnable since we don't know what comes back. Only the final auction price is refunded (no restocking fees here!). Grading With over 20 years of experience, we use the ANA standards for coin grading. Grading for the most part is technical and not subjective! A circulated coin will have a certain amount of wear (not to be confused with strike) to meet a certain grade. Mint State coins vary based on strike, contact marks, and "eye appeal" (the only subjective part). Problem coins result in "net grading". If we feel a "slabbed" coin is not properly graded, we will notate that in the description. On a couple of occasions, we have sent the same coin to the same grading service and got it back with a grading difference of 2-3 MS points! Photos Photos may not be available at the time of the listing but will appear within a short time-frame so please bookmark this auction. If the item is valued under $10, photo may not be available due to the time it takes to put photos online. Contact Us Emails are generally returned within 24 hours. If you have ANY questions regarding our policies, PLEASE EMAIL US!! We are also interested in buying coins or collections if you are selling. We offer FREE appraisals if you ship the items to us (you pay postage) or catch us at one of the New England shows. stwithpolicies Counter by AuctionTamer
