This coin features a Shield on the obverse. The 2 Cent denomination was only issued for 10 years, and was the VERY FIRST COIN to feature the motto "In God we trust" on a coin. This denomination was only minted from 1864 until 1873, which was Proof coins only, and in VERY LIMITED NUMBERS! This date, if an 1868, has a VERY LOW MINTAGE of ONLY 2,803,750. This coin has some wear, but still has SOLID DETAIL REMAINING. Of interest is the prominent COUNTERSTAMP- G MURRER across the reverse.
