Description
An attractive Grade 2, four-reales silver cob retrieved by Mel Fisher from the shipwrecked Spanish Galleon, Nuestra Senora de Atocha, which sank during a hurricane off Key West, Florida in 1622. A hefty 12.9 grams, with certificate of authenticity: Treasure Salvors raised seal. Minted for Spain in Potosi, Bolivia. (Note P to left of shield.) Assayer: T. Popularly known as "pieces-of-eight," these cobs or coins were made of planchets cut from silver rods, then hand-struck with dies and crafted into cobs. Note quality photo of cob's obverse applied to certificate. I understand that V Series coins were especially allotted and certified for a major investment group known as Vanguard Ventures. This is guaranteed to be a genuine, original cob. A nice example worthy of a strong bid. Please note: PayPal accepted from Buyer with confirmed address, only. High bidder also pays $12.00 for priority S,H,&I. On Aug-31-08 at 11:30:04 PDT, seller added the following information:
