Description
The Rainbow Chasers by Tommy Gore as told to T.L. Armstrong The item listed in this auction is a new copy of The Rainbow Chasers by Tommy Gore as told to T.L. Armstrong. This is issued as a Softcover book with 277 pages and is illustrated with many photos. This book is a different look at the shipwreck recoveries from the 1715 Spanish Treasure Fleet off Florida’s east coast by a State of Florida Archaeological Field Agent who worked from the 1960s through the early 2000s. Although this book is primarily about the 1715 Fleet, the author also details his experiences in the Florida Keys with wrecks of the 1733 Spanish Treasure Fleet, the “American Gold” wreck of 1857 off Fort Pierce, Bahaman Island dives, and many other salvage areas in Florida waters. From the back cover: “This book is Tommy Gore’s addition to Florida’s rich collection of historic documentation. As a marine agent of Florida’s State Board of History and Archives, now the Bureau of Archaeological Research, Tommy was the most widely recognized field authority known to all the treasure salvors in Florida during the last three decades of the 20th century.” It is recommended for anyone interested in Spanish or sunken treasure salvage. Thank you for looking and good luck bidding! Workmansbooks is an online bookseller specializing in numismatic, military, and treasure hunting-related auction catalogs, books, and magazines for the discerning collector or casual hobbyist. This online bookshop started from a deep passion of collecting reference material for the purpose of identifying pieces of historic militaria and rare coins discovered through the fascinating hobby of metal-detecting. Knowing how hard it is to assemble a reference collection for this hobby was the driving force behind developing this site to help other collectors get the references they need. Our general inventory is a good mix of auction catalogs, books, and magazines, with an emphasis on hard-to-find vintage auction catalogs of rare coins and fine militaria. Our book inventory is tailored toward militaria research, military unit research and identification of military uniforms, equipment, firearms, ordinance, and accoutrement. Also included in our book inventory are selections on numismatic identification as well as selections on treasure, buried treasure, sunken treasure, shipwrecks, salvage, and general treasure hunting how-to. Our magazine inventory is stocked with a nice variety of back issues on treasure hunting, buried treasure, sunken treasure, shipwrecks, and relic hunting. We hope that the reference works you find by visiting our website will be useful in your personal library. Please bookmark our website and check back often, as we are constantly buying and consigning collections and adding new material to the site as soon as it can be cataloged.
