I was so sore from walking and looking down I went and got in the hot tub every nite.  (6-14-08)Southport NC,Heard stories of a Minister who was very poor (1950s) and fished everyday to help feed his family and one day they found his fishing gear in the usual worm digging spot but he had dissapeared and left his small rented house and his congregation and moved up to Ashville NC and built and big church and him a big house so what did he find at Southport and where was this worm digging spot located we will try it and see. (5-26-08)Down the Cape Fear River we went and as soon as we unloaded on the first island one of our guests came down with some sort of illness so we had to cut the trip short but before we left we did get to do a little searcing but all we found was trash and more trash where there are people theres trash and its ashame.also past right by the Orton Platation back door and saw all the NO Metal Detecting signs along the river side.next trip inlets around Southport and Bald Head Island in about 2 weeks so come along. ~PEACE~ (05-25-08) Be headed down the Cape Fear River once again close to where they caught up with Steede Bonnet and hanged him for piracy but before his capture legend states that he buried something in the area where we are going so bring along your deep locators and metal detectors because you never know OH!! and plus as an added bonus just a couple of miles up from there a man name Roger Moore owned a big plantation back in the 1700s and during the Revolutionary war buried all his valuables on the Cape Fear River might hit that aswell so meet us there and we split everything we find or if someone wants all or just one piece we determine its value by having each individaul writing down on paper what he thinks its worth is an average of that will be the price that individual will have to pay. (04/18-19/08)Finally visited Ocracoke Island aka: (Teachs hole) and I'm convinced now that Blackbeard drank and squandered all of his plunder on and around this island and didn't bury a thing but maybe some of his crew of buccaneers might have buried individual caches of value and after walking and searching about 6 miles of beach and looking for old Spanish coins I only came away with around 4 fishing lures and $5.00 in change but it was a great weekend for the family and the $15.00 2 hour ferry ride to the island was like taking a poor mans cruise. (03/01/08)Finnaly found the old moonshine still sight and found hundreds of old Douglas clear and brown 1 gallon jars the kind with the finger hole at the top near the spout with the tin caps still intact on several but the old still was gone just old remnats and hundreds of old compressed gas cylingders lying around rusting away witch made it very hard to detech for anything using our metal detectors.Plus I dont think that this is the sight we have been looking for in the past.
