Description
In the late 19th century Portugal’s dominance of Mozambique was threatened by Great Britain and Germany, who planned to divide Mozambique between them. The Niassa Company, in Portuguese the Companhia do Niassa, was a royal company in the Portuguese colony of Mozambique, then known as Portuguese East Africa, that had the concession of the lands that include the present provinces of Cabo Delgado and Niassa between 1891 and 1929. Although founded by Bernard Daupais, a merchant from Lisbon, the company was owned by British and French interests. This area also produced their own stamps. I have three share warrants each to the value of ten shares.
