This is an outstanding Greek tetradrachm of Ptolemy I from 125-60 BC with a very dramatic reverse of a standing eagle much like the ones seen on similar period and denomination coins and including Roman pieces found in Israel in the time of Christ. The coin is as you see it and we are not expert in grading Roman and Greek coinage which does not have a numeric scale such as that used on American coinage. The design is sharp both obverse and reverse and the condition is quite nice although it clearly shows use and some moderate wear. The silver piece weighs 12.75 grams (just about 41% of a troy ounce) and measures 23.8mm north to south and 23.1mm east to west. You can see with the naked eye that it is slightly oval vertically.
