Description
This exceptional Spanish two escudos doubloon was struck in Seville in the mid-1600s under the rule of Philip III or Philip IV. The coin grades extremely fine and comes with a certificate of authenticity.   The Spanish shield with the mintmark ā€œSā€ to the left and the assayer initial ā€œDā€ below is featured on the obverse of the specimen. The reverse cross is fully struck and bold.   Pirates and privateers often attacked Spanish galleons in search of these beautiful treasure coins.   (Images may be enlarged or reduced.
