Society of Medalists medal number 6 from 1932 Bronze 73 mm very slight rub on the highest points with a slightly mottled but uniformly brown patina rather than the normally encountered sea green patina. Some don't like the green patina normally seen on this medal and if so this may represent a rare opportunity. No box or paper and a mintage of just 1,494 by artist John Flanagan sculptor. Aphrodite Swift Runners with two nude males handing Olympic ? torch. Flanagan is most famous to coin collectors as the designer the George Washington Quarter which began in 1932 with the bicentennial of Washington’s birth and is still in use more than 75 years later.
