I was told it was faster and more efficient to use a professional coin counter, rather than the cheaper coin sorters and rollers available in office supply stores. They were doing the job, but the job took 3 hours a night. My S-45 coin counter wraps up the task in less than an hour. The machine appears to be well-built and sturdy. We charge for shipping because it is a legitimate expense and you should demand that it is properly done.  As part of our shipping, packaging and insurance charge, unlike most vendors that actually ship coin or currency counters in the plain box that the machine comes in, this is the wrong way to ship this type of equipment!  Both UPS & FedEx consistently bang and drop the boxes they are handling, and the boxes that this type of equipment are typically packaged in are only designed to center the machine within the middle of the box.  Most single boxes are not designed to absorb shock which can damage a counter during transit. We have a professional shipping department that "double boxes" each and every coin or currency counter we ship, so that your purchase is properly protected during transit to withstand the abuse that the freight carriers dish out. After your counter is packaged within a foam mold and placed into it's box, we then place that box into a much bigger box surrounded by foam packing material (your counter is double boxed). This form of packaging cushions & properly protects your purchase from potential freight damage that is often experienced from improper packaging, as is found in many other eBay sellers' packages, especially the sellers that are attempting to cut costs when they don't charge for shipping. Frankly, so many sellers have NO idea what it takes to properly pack a shipment (both our company and I have personally purchased many items on eBay only to be seriously disappointed when our purchase arrives damaged or broken from a pathetic pack job).  All of our shipments are "Fully Insured" and meet or exceed insurance standards for damage claims unlike many other eBay sellers, but more importantly, we don't have damage claims because we go the extra mile and put in the additional effort to properly package your purchase with the attention it deserves.  What good is a deal when it arrives damaged??? Bottom line... You Will Get The Best Packing/Packaging Of Any Vendor On eBay, bar none (including a top notch product as well)!!!  We currently maintain a "0" claim rate with our freight carriers regarding any of our products that we've shipped having being damaged during transit. That is a difficult claim for most eBay sellers to live up to! Demand 1st Rate Packing and rest assured that this is the only way we take care of our customers! How is it that your prices are so low? This is a very good question and it is important that you understand why you are getting such a good price with all of our eBay auctions.  While prices vary drastically on the various coin & currency counters that you will find on eBay (and other money handling equipment as well), the quality, accuracy, and reliability of the equipment varies as well between the different sellers' equipment you will find. When you are deciding on what machine to purchase and from whom to purchase it, you should consider whether the company that you purchase from will be around to service your machine 6 months from now, next year or later.  Also, consider whether you are buying a name brand machine with a quality reputation or a no name cheap import that falls into the category of:  If it breaks, through it away. The reason you are finding Semacon equipment on eBay is that our company uses eBay as a form of advertising and it also allows us to sell a few machines directly to the end users, such as you, so that it provides us the opportunity to keep our fingers on the pulse of the marketplace, so to speak, since our primary form of selling is through our distributors/resellers and our dealer network. When we take the time to work directly with our end users, it provides us the opportunity to learn more about your needs.  This helps us to develop new products to better match the needs of our customers. But here is the trade-off...eBay buyers are bargain hunters (believe me...I know, as when I am shopping on eBay I am looking for a deal, otherwise, I would but locally).  To meet the needs of the bargain hunting atmosphere and attract attention to our products, even though our equipment traditionally sells for substantially more than the prices we offer it to you for on eBay for, in this particular instance, you are able to bypass the middlemen and buy direct from Semacon at either wholesale or near wholesale prices! You no longer need to settle on buying other inferior products to get the price down when you can buy our high end, name brand products at drastically reduced prices! Now sometimes you may notice that there are other sellers peddling no name equipment at low prices and you may ask, "How does that equipment compare to Semacon?"  This can be answered in a variety of ways but we will illustrate one example in response to this question.  There is a seller that offers a coin counter on eBay that he even included packaging tubes with it but this product was a cheap Taiwan copy of one of our machines.  This other eBay seller failed to disclose that his counter will not count "dimes" even though he included a dime packaging tube with it. After viewing many of this other seller's auctions, he later began to mention hidden within the specifications section of his auction that the counter will count within a "Diameter Limit: 19.5mm to 29mm," but he fails to disclose that USA dimes are less than 19.5mm!  ~Very tricky wording~!!!  A dime is approximately 17mm and a penny is approximately 19mm.  This other seller's counter is designed to work with 19.5mm and larger, up to 29mm.  His counter is not designed to work with the USA dime or penny but he fails to disclose this and very strategically conceals this fact. His coin counter also has a bagging spout on the front of the machine but the factory failed to include a bag holder within it's design yet the seller fails to disclose that as well.  This is a perfect example of how you can be taken advantage of by some of the sellers that have very few scruples.  Can you even get service on this machine from this type of seller and if so, are you likely to be taken advantage of...you be the judge.  Eventually this seller will quit offering this machine and you will be further stuck with a machine that when it breaks, may be good for nothing more than a paper weight or a boat anchor.  Just for reference, this particular seller changes his machine offerings very frequently.  This is an excellent example to illustrate why you should be purchasing a solid Brand Name counter from a solid company that will be around to support the product you made a substantial investment in, for years to come. The point that we are leading up to, whether you buy a Semacon product or another brand, make sure to buy from a reputable seller that is selling a solid name brand product and specializes in money handling equipment!  Watch out for the sellers that are selling an inexpensive  no-name brand along with a variety of miscellaneous unrelated products.
