Description
PIETILA store Scarce XF+ $60.00 Jan 14 1779 Continental/Colonial Note Scarce $60.00 1779 Continental/Colonial Note in Choice, Higher grade. No tears, no holes, no pin holes, no restoration attempts, nor any other problems. Just a couple of very light folds (more like bends) and slight paper aging attests to its limited time in circulation. Bold embossing still remains on this watermaked paper "CONFEDE RATION" (see last photo) on two lines when held upto a light source. Furthermore, this note is boldly signed by Robert A. Roberts (R. Roberts), and signed by Jacob Masoner (J. Mafoner), . The serial number 170901 of this note is in clear red ink. Embedded thick blue threads which are present along with the watermarked paper , were both used as anti-counterfeiting devices. An original and genuine example of our early monetary history. Purchased from CAA over 4 years ago where they graded this same note as XF (bold with no problems). Lot slip/holder will be included. Successful bidder shall pay $6.85 for insured 1st Class USPS shipping/handling.
