The Silver Portland 1905 pieces just don't show up often and when they do, finding one without wear is a treasure and a surprise. There are the omnipresent hairlines from someone's desire to cloth the medal years ago but we don't see any wear and neither do we see any damage. There is some toning/spotting that is going to be there on these silver pieces no matter how they're kept. The mark at about 3:00 in front of Lewis & Clark's faces is not a gouge but looks like a surface smudge from something rubbing the medal almost as you would get if you dragged an eraser across the surface.The details all here and we paid a premium to obtain one of these silver Portland SCDs that was a legitimate UNC. We're trying to keep the price low, but this is a rarity and worth the price you'll pay. If you worry about that price, use the Buy it Now and avoid a half dozen back and forth bids that will cost you money and makes us money!
