I noticed a large mass growing on his hind leg and took him to the vet shortly afterwards. I certainly didn't expect to be told the news that Guzzi had a bone tumor. I learned that bone cancer is one of the most painful types of cancers and is always fatal. 5 short days later I made the agonizing decision to have him humanely euthanized. I don't feel like I will ever get over the loss of him and I wanted to do something very special in his memory. One day I know that we will meet again at Rainbow Bridge and we will never be parted from one another again. This coin is dedicated to his memory. The photo used on this coin is one I took while visiting the Oregon Coast in October of 2006. I had just finished logging Katie's Toy Box and decided to head down to the beach. The Rainbow Bridge poem holds so much meaning for me. I condensed the poem to fit onto the coin.
