This is a lot of 20 - 2005 D "Satin" Sacagawea Dollars bearing the "D" (Denver) Mint Mark, taken from the 2005 US Mint Uncirculated Coin Sets. These uncirculated coins are minted on special presses and are struck with greater force than circulating coins, producing a sharp, intricately detailed image. More importantly for the first time these coins have a "satin" finish, which distinguish them from regular production circulating coinage.  These coins are carefully cut from the Mint’s mylar packaging, left in their individual packets. Our coins do not touch each other. Quality first! Additionally, these are not grading service rejects…these are first quality. Most coins should grade MS-65 or better, with the potential for MS-70 graded coins. The Mint has taken extra care with these coins to minimize contact with each other prior to packaging, so scratches and other imperfections are minimized. Generally, the U.S. Mint produces about one million Uncirculated Coin Sets each year. This year, due to increased demand for the new satin variety, we expect that production may increase by 25% or so.
