Description It is with regret that, after buying and selling, for the last few years, I must put my own coin collection up for auction. So, up for bid is the rare 1872 3 Cent Silver from my very complete set of US coins. It is a beautiful little piece that, with age, has tone over. Underneath the toning is a fairly reflective surface. So, please be aware I am not sure if this is a business strike or a proof (both have astronomically low mintages). It's only flaws require a powerful magnifying glass to spot. On the obverse, there is a ding or something (die related?) at the "D" on "United". On the opposite side in that same spot is a little tiny ding as well. Again, was that from the minting process? I have no idea. All other details are flawless and it is a gorgeous coin! I will be selling the cream of my collection over the next two weeks so look for other auctions under my seller name. If the coin is ungraded, you have the option of returning it within ten calendar days of receiving it (that is more than enough time to run it up to a dealer for examination and still send it back). There is no return on graded coins (IGC, NGC, PCGS). If you have less than a (5) score feedback, I am afraid I will have to cancel bids unless you contact me ahead of time.
