$$$ $$$ Hedge Your Investments With Precious Metals and Numismatic Coins! BUY NOW! $$$ $$$ COPPER GOING TO $4.00+ ~ SILVER TO $20.00+ ~ GOLD TO $1,000.00+ AGAIN! BUY NOW!!! ALL OLD AND HISTORIC UNITED STATES COINS !!! ONE U.S. 1958 LINCOLN WHEATBACK BRIGHT RED ($.01) CENT! DDO ("GOD" IN MOTTO and "L" IN LIBERTY) COIN! ONLY TWO VERIFIED ~ A THIRD SUSPECTED ~ AND THIS UNKNOWN ONE! ATTRIBUTED ERROR COIN! - MINTAGE OF ONLY 252.m - ONE U.S. $(.01) CENT Offered for your bidding pleasure is one U.S. 1958 LINCOLN "WHEATBACK" ($.01) CENT in excellent (MS66+) condition! This is another great coin being sold raw and uncertified. This VINTAGE ANTIQUE COIN has plenty of stories to tell. This seller observes a DDO of such rarity that MAKES this coin command attention! It has a doubled-die error in "GOD" (very evident in the "D") in the obverse motto of IN GOD WE TRUST and in "LIBERTY" (mostly evident in the "L"). This coin came from an ORIGINAL BANKROLL which was in a "mint sewn bag" and came from one of Seller's sources in California. The source told me that he'd "found his 1958 original bankrolls in a 'mint sewn' bag he had kept since he was a kid" and that he'd been "saving these coins from when he was 5 years old" (this source is just 50 years old, so this makes sense), so you can only IMAGINE my surprise and delight when I "Googled" the coin and found evidence of my observations of the Doubled-Die Minting Errors attributed and reported, AFTER I'd obversed the errors and prior to learning exactly what was, in fact, doubled-died errors! Read the article below which i researched from the ultimately-respected certifying and premier third-party grading company PCGS! This coin could be worth over $60,000.00 (you read that right: SIXTY THOUSAND $60,000.00) DOLLARS) to the right seller at the right time and would be worth even MORE if certified, graded and slabbed! Historical and Political comments surrounding 1958: This is a post WWII coin and was minted at the end of the 1950s when life was "perfect" and the world was at peace. It was only in Cuba that political dissention was occuring with the Castro regime plotting to turn over the Batista government. President Kennedy was a Senator at the time and a wishful office-holder of Commander-in-Chief of the United States of America at the time; and the movies were being rankled with fears of McCarthyism. The only fear in the United States at the time was that of being accused of being a "Communist". The late 1950s ushered in the Baby Boom Generation to the Decade of Love, the 1960s. But that was still a few years off. Coin Observations: There are no surface or edge problems here at all. The hairlines, wings and face are clear, evident and VERY detailed; the lettering is self-evident and sharp; the date is full and contains another part of the doubled-die error as it is of high relief and shows shadows evidentiary of DDO date coins. The DDO error is also evident in viewing the doubled collar clearly seen on the collar just above the motto "In God We Trust". The reverse is just as and even MORE crisp, clear, discernible and high relief. The coin definitely shows off its ultra-attractive and original-mint luster and relief! LOOK AT THE SCANS - they speak for themselves on the state of the coin's conditioned being evaluated by this seller as an MS66 grade! You can can see all doubled-die errors as mentioned above with a 30x21mm jewelers loupe, which Seller uses to observe all coins, keeping the coin held at an angle, right side bearing down 45 degrees and using VERY GOOD lighting! It is DEFINITELY a prestige coin to own! This coin ought to be revered, cherished and kept safe for its posterity for these reasons as well as for its intrinsic value! There were only 252.m minted! This would be a proud addition to anyone's coin collection, and certainly for those collectors with serious and discriminating preferences, and ought to be cherished, revered and saved for posterity's sake! So bid enthusiastically, bid respectfully and bid with confidence. If for ANY reason you are unsatisfied, you may return the coin to me (see "RETURNS" below). I stand by my personal observations with pride and conviction. This coin should be YOURS! YOU grade it, YOU invest in it! THIS LISTING IS DIRECTED TO THE SERIOUS, DISCRIMINATING COIN COLLECTOR. Validating Research and Information: "PCGS Certifies Finest 1958 Doubled Die Obverse Lincoln Cent Ron Guth - October 6, 2005 At the recent Long Beach Coin and Collectibles Exposition, the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) examined, authenticated, and graded the finest 1958 Double Die Obverse (DDO) Cent. This second of only two examples known to exist is now safely encapsulated in an MS-65 Red PCGS holder. The new 1958 Double Die Obverse Cent was submitted by Stewart Blay, a noted Lincoln Cent specialist, who acquired the coin recently for an undisclosed sum described as being "well into six figures." The doubling on the obverse of the 1958 DDO Cent is most evident on the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the word "LIBERTY". The error is nearly as dramatic as the doubling on the 1955 Double Die Obverse Cent, except that the date on the 1958 shows only slight doubling. Today, the 1958 Double Die Obverse is virtually unknown except to experts in the field, partly because it was discovered so long ago and partly because only two (possibly three) examples have been found. Mystery shrouds the discovery of this variety. Around 1960, a collector from the Philadelphia area (possibly a Mint employee) found two examples in a Mint sewn bag of 1958 Cents. In 1966, photographs of one of the coins were sent to Coin World, where the variety made its debut in a Collectors Clearinghouse column. In 1973, the owner, then identified as W. Marira, re-sent the images to Coin World and the coin became the subject of another Collectors Clearinghouse column. Despite the publicity, no other examples have appeared on the market, although a third has been rumored to exist. Around 1996, the collector consigned the coin to dealer and Lincoln Cent specialist Sam Lukes, who sent it to ANACS for authentication and grading. ANACS assigned a grade of MS-64 Red and the coin was sold in a private transaction at a price reported to be around the $25,000 level. Subsequently, the coin was recertified by PCGS as an MS-64 Red and resold for $57,500. The second example, slightly nicer than the first, was retained by the collector who discovered it circa 1960. In 1995, Kevin Flynn examined the piece, photographed it, and made it the subject of the HOT TOPICS section of his book (The Authoritative Reference on Lincoln Cents, co-authored with John Wexler). According to Stewart Blay, he has been on the trail of the second example for 20 years. Recently, through perseverance and serendipity, Blay found the collector and offered to purchase the coin, only to discover that the collector was not interested in selling it. Apparently, Blay made an offer that was too good to refuse, as he is now the proud owner of this incredible rarity. The 1958 Double Die Obverse Cent is one of the highlights of Stewart Blay's collection, listed as the Number One Set in several categories in the PCGS Set Registry(SM). PCGS asked Blay what he planned for an encore. His dream now is to someday find, if it even exists, a Mint Red 1943 Bronze Cent. Good luck, Stewart!Ron Guth is the President of the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). He has been active as a coin collector, dealer, writer and auctioneer since his introduction to numismatics in 1964." Seller's Note: The foregoing information and quotations are from information found in the PCGS news site and emphasis has been added by Seller with coloring and underscoring. As COPPER is now reapproaching the $4.00 per pound mark; Gold reapproaching the $1,000.00 mark; and Silver reapproaching $20.00 now per Troy Ounce and is rumored to go up to $25.00 and higher, SMART investors are looking at silver going to $50.00. For some reason (i've found OUT the reasons: The US Mints and all major bullion houses do NOT have enough liquidity, IN ANY OF THEIR REAL PRECIOUS METAL STOCK, to back their paper contracts; and it's now just a matter of time for the "House of Cards" to fall apart, and those of us who obtained the physical metals will be the one's to have saved their future! THIS IS NOT HYPE! (It is fact!), real silver, copper and gold ARE scarce right now and everyone wants a piece of it. You should too! The intangible, intrinsic value of each coin, as to its mint and condition is a plus! Real silver IS scarce right now and everyone wants a piece of it, and, again, you should too!
