Description
oldmoney store PHILIPPINES 1 Peso 1941 Victory series PHILIPPINES 1 Peso 1941 Victory seriesIn a higher grade problem free condition. Please see photos!Serial : F 07037803The Phillipine Islands were acquired by the USA in 1899 as part of a treaty with Spain ending the Spanish-American War. They were under US sovereignty and in 1935 they were made a commonwealth of the US. Currency Notes were produced at the Bureau of Engraving in the USA for the Phillipines under U.S. sovereignty. They were issued from 1903 to 1949. During World War II the normal flow of notes from the United States was interrupted and when the Japanese invaded and took over the Phillipines, Japanese occupation notes were used in commerce. When General Douglas MacArthur recaptured the Phillipine Islands and returned on October 20, 1944, his forces brought with them a new series of notes heralding the coming end of the war: this issue had the backs appropriately overprinted VICTORY in large black letters. This auction is for a 2 Peso Victory Note in circulated condition.  Note is very clean and crisp.  The note in the picture is the note you will receive.  The blue seal on the note reads COMMONWEALTH OF THE PHILLIPINES, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. And for buyer protection, I offer a seven day no questions asked return policy on any unslabbed or "raw" note! The note pictured is the note being auctioned. GRADE CATEGORIES FOR US PAPER MONEY: GOOD: Badly worn with pin holes, tears and frayed edges. Often soiled and stained. (So you see, good doesn't always mean good) VERY GOOD: Considerable wear, may be dark, soiled and have small tears. Limp with no crispness. Heavily folded and wrinkled. FINE: Note shows much circulation and use including folding and wrinkling with light stains and soiling. Corners should be intact. VERY FINE: A note that has been circulated and shows folds and wrinkles, but not heavy wear or signs of prolonged use. Still has a little crispness in the paper and no soiling or darkening. Possilbly some light smudges. EXTRA-FINE: Faint signs of use, bright and clean with nearly full crispness. Light signs of two or three minor folds. No other distractions or problems. ABOUT UNCIRCULATED: Very light signs of use, maybe a light corner fold or crease, but otherwise bright and clean with full crispness. UNCIRCULATED: No trace of circulation, bright and crisp. Sometimes you may find traces of poor handling or storage such as pin holes (from old style bank counting machines) or counting smudges. CHOICE UNCIRCULATED: An uncirculated note that is fresher and brighter than the norm and well centered. GEM UNCIRCULATED : A flawless note free from any fault and perfectly centered.
