They are both high grade, but the 1942 has minor, even wear on King George's hair lines and scattered surface marks visible on the obverse. The 1952 version has sharper hair lines, and minimal marks. The 1952 also has a more lustrous finish. Since we are all at least somewhat subjective in our opinions of coins, please use the scans to form your own judgements.
