The set consists of : A single one ounce 24 carat gold coin( this is pure gold not bullion).                                      : Two one tenth ounce gold coins,  And                             : two half ounce sterling silver coins.   The face of the coins consist of the profiles of both Mandela and De Klerk together on the one ounce gold and seperately on the sterling silver coins. The face of the one tenth coins have the speeches of Mandela and De Klerk commemorating the historical occasion of receiving the Nobel Peace prize in 1993.The obverse of all of the coins consist of the official flower of South Africa, the Protea. THIS IS A COPY OF THE SPEECHES ON THE TWO ONE TENTH COINS..............................  The reverse of the Protea R5 (1/10oz) gold coin features the following extract from FW de Klerk's acceptance speech at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony held in Oslo, Norway on 10 December 1993: "What is taking place in South Africa is such a deed - a deed resounding over the earth - a deed of peace.  It brings hope to all South Africans.  It opens new horizons for Sub-Saharan Africa.  It has the capacity to unlock the tremendous potential of our country and our region.  The new era, which is dawning in our country, beneath the great southern stars, will lift us out of the silent grief of our past and into a future in which there will be opportunity and space for joy and beauty - for real and lasting peace". The reverse of the Protea R5 (1/10oz) gold coin features the following extract from Nelson Mandela's acceptance speech at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony held in Oslo, Norway on 10 December 1993: "We live with the hope that as she battles to remake herself, South Africa, will be like a microcosm of the new world that is striving to be born.  This must be a world of democracy and respect for human rights, a world freed from the horrors of poverty, hunger, deprivatio and ignorance, relieved of the threat and the scourge of civil wars and external aggression and unburdened of the great tragedy of millions forced to become refugees". The set was minted in 2007 and was the only set (of nobel peace prize winners from South Africa) to consist of five coins commemorating both Nelson Mandela and F.W. de Klerk. It comes encased in a letherette box. The set comes with a certificate of authentication from theSouth African mint and the number of the set( 2570) It is a truly awsome set to have. It is one of the most difficult sets to get, even in South Africa( where it was minted!!!) When you are bidding on this set you are not only bidding on  a set of coinsbut you are bidding on a historical documentation of one of the most significant events of the twentieth century .....and you can bet that the value of this set will skyrocket once the great Mandela is no more with us.....
