The Reverse celebrates the day the Expedition thought they first sighted the Pacific Ocean.  In reality, the group was still 20 miles inland, mistaking an estuary on the Columbia River for the ocean. A 37-cent US Flag Stamp, postmarked on August 1, 2005, from Chinook Station, Chinook, WA, marks the first day of release to the Federal Reserve Bank and to the public.
