This is probably one of the most interesting Jeton's that I have ever owned. As can be seen there is a 'Bee' within a wreath with the legend: MIMES DU VIRUX CONDE. The other side most likely had a bee also, but the legend is: JETTON DE MINEU(L?). This piece weighs 26.7 grams and is struck in white metal. It is 38mm X 33mm. Buyer pays: $2.00 USPS First Class Mail shipping; INTERNATIONAL: $3.00. Check, MO or PayPal accepted. Please email me for other payment options. All auctions with a value of $50 or more will requirement actual amount USPS Insurance for all U.S. sales. On Jul-07-08 at 06:29:29 PDT, seller added the following information:The following was forwarded to me by another eBay'er. Great information. Thanks! MINES DU VIEUX CONDE in Anzin which is a commune in the Nord department in northern France. It lies on the Scheldt, 1-½ miles northwest of Valenciennes, of which it is a suburb. The city was originally settled by Saxon tribes, of which they called it Azing, named after either Anzenicks, or Aze. Anzin is the centre of important coal-mines of the Valenciennes basin belonging to the Anzin Company, the formation of which dates to 1717. The commune's first coal layer of the area in 1734. This is a Mine Jeton (Mine Script)
