The token pictured is the one you will receive. It is an attractive example of a rare and underrated Hard Times token. Issued in support of Martin Van Buren's 1836 Presidential Election campaign, it is catalogued as MVB 1836-4 in the Dewitt and Sullivan poltical medalet books. There were very few political medalets produced for the essentially uncontested 1836 Presidential Election and Van Buren succeeded Andrew Jackson with ease. In his 4th edition of the U.S. Tokens book (published in 2004), Rulau valued this token at $700 in EF and $1500 in UNC. The gilt on this certified AU-58 example is virtually intact and it has superb eye appeal.
