Description
GALLERY MINT Special Order 1794 $1 Coin Replica Struck on Clad Ike $1 Blank! CLICK IMAGE TO ENLARGE CLICK IMAGE TO ENLARGE Offered here is probably one of the most unusual of all the Gallery Mint special orders, a specimen of their 1794 Flowing Hair $1 coin replica struck on a clad Eisenhower $1 blank! Back in 2002 when they made this for me, clad Ike dollar blanks could be found for under $50. Now, they regularly sell for 5 times that amount! Who knew? "This coin replica is encapsulated in a holder featuring a top viewing label so unique it was granted US Patent No. D423,757. The top Viewing label means you will never have to dig through all of your boxes to find one specific coin again. You can look at the pictures and read the text in the capsule but YOU ARE PROHIBITED FROM CONSIDERING THIS PIECE TO BE EITHER CERTIFIED OR GRADED, as described in the Ebay policies set forth below. Please look at the pictures of the piece and make your own decision as to grade, which is something you should do even if it were 'actually' certified." Please read below to see Ebay's explanation of their policies regarding certain encapsulated coins/medals. (Who thinks up this stuff??) With the exception of coins encapsulated by the five coin grading companies recognized by Ebay, (you'll have to look them up because I cannot mention them here) AND I QUOTE: "No grading company names may be mentioned in any way anywhere in the listing. You cannot mention or hint that the coin has been graded or certified in any way, this includes disclaimers that the grading company is not one of our approved grading companies. This policy would prohibit you from making any sort of claim that a grading company has legitimized the grade on the authentication slab. You may include images showing the coin in the slab but this is because we do not outright prohibit such items, only how they may be advertised. " Pretty unusual, I don't think you'll find another anywhere, and there aren't going to be any more made. I gotta say, I've never seen a flashier, better looking clad $1 blank ever! I would never have figured they could ever look so good. If the folks at the Gallery Mint can strike a coin on a clad Ike $1 blank and make it look so good with 18th century technology, you'd think the US Mint could have done a better job striking Ike dollars. Please let me know if you have any questions. SHIPPING IS CALCULATED FOR INSURED PRIORITY MAIL. PLEASE USE THE SHIPPING CALCULATOR TO DETERMINE SHIPPING COST. INSURANCE IS REQUIRED.
