Description
A set of 4 wood framed sealed coins. TWO 1891 SILVER DOLLARS and a SOLID BRONZE MOON MEDAL 7-20-69 The largest is 16" X 13" "United States 20th Century Coins". Dated 1972. This collection of coins are representative of those that were used during the 20th. century. Coins are; Eisenhower 1971 silver dollar, 1981 Liberty silver dollar, Kennedy 1964 half $, Franklin 1954 half $, Liberty 1916-1947 half $, Barber 1906 half $, Quarters-Liberty 1925, Barber 1901, Washington 1965, Washington 1964, Nickels-Jefferson 1943, Buffalo 1936, Jefferson 1963, Liberty 1912. Dimes- Barber1914, Mercury 1941, Roosevelt 1963, Roosevelt 1967. Penny's- Indian 1902, Lincoln 1957, Lincoln reverse 1909-1958, Lincoln reverse 1959-, Lincoln 1960, white Lincoln 1943. And a SOLID BRONZE MOON MEDAL. On the bottom of the display is the story of the 20th century coins. Frame has a thin line crack on one bottom corner, some of the coins have tarnished. Total of 25 coins in this frame. The next 3 framed coins are in 10" X 12" wood frames. "The Silver Story" Has the store of silver in American coinage printed on it. There is a Silver Dollar dated 1891, a round coin place with Silver Granules in it, a War Nickel 1943, a silver dime 1963 and a One Dollar Silver Certificate. Frame is in great condition , silver dollar and dime are tarnished. "Wartime Coinage". Printed on the front the story of how America diverted valuable metals to the war effort. Coins in this frame are Nickel's- 1942, 1942-S, 1943, 1943-D, 1943-S, 1944, 1944-D, 1944S, 1945, 1945-D, 1945-S. The steel penny (1943) was minted of Zinc coated steel while Lincoln Cents minted in 1944 & 1945 utilized the salvaged shell cases. Penny's are steel 1943-D, 1943, 1943-S, the rest are 1944, 1944-D, 1944-S, 1945, 1945-D, 1945-S. Total of 20 coins. Frame in great condition, bottom row of coins are lightly tarnished, the top 2 rows look mint. " Lincoln Memorial Coins ". The top 2 penny's are in reverse to show that the Original design 1909-1958 and the Memorial design 1959- are different. Total of 29 penny's. Story on the front is of the Lincoln coins. Mint marks ( Denver-D; San Francisco-S.) are located just under the date; coins issued by the Philadelphia Mint bear no mark. Frame is in great condition. Coins look good, slight tarnish.
