Description
Beautiful HK specimen, the official souvenir medal of the 1895 Cotton States Convention. HK268, R4, as shown a lustrous BU. Please ask if questions and take a moment to see our other listings as we're trying to accelerate the number we list each week. Just a few of the items we'll be listing from the several hundred we purchased in September, many at the Long Beach show and from the Heritage token and medal auction there include the following Civil War coins, medals and tokens: --Large bronze Civil War Sanitary Fair medal, choice BU and quite rare --Silver and copper small Philadelphia Sanitary Fair medals from choice to gem BU --Two outstanding sutler tokens, both quite scarce --Approximately 50 Civil War tokens, including rarities and numerous BU tokens (nearly ten slabbed pieces were sold on ebay already) Non Civil War pieces include a wide range of very high grade common and all grades of rare So-Called Dollars and naturally our specialty, a broad range of items from various World's Fairs including the World's Columbian Expo. Some of the other important (none painful!) details for those purchasing from us at auction: SHIPPING: All of our lots are normally a flat $3.00 for first-class shipping and we combine to save the buyer shipping costs. INSURANCE: Insurance is optional but without it obviously the buyer is at risk should anything be lost or damaged in shipping. NON-US/CANADA TRANSACTIONS: We will always try to ship abroad, but you'll need to be patient, pay ONLY IN US FUNDS and have a solid ebay rating. It's not the customers who make us nervous, but the often unreliable postal systems outside the country. If you can pay with US funds, are fine with uninunsured shipping (or if you have suggestions for your country) and are not in a hurry, then by all means contact us and do bid on our merchandise. METHODS OF PAYMENT: We accept checks and money orders (personal, bank or business checks are just fine) but we do NOT use PayPal. WIth ebay forcing everyone to switch to PayPal or a facsimile, we'll have no choice and get set up to make the change in October. AND DON'T MISS OUR MAJOR WORLD'S COLUMBIAN AUCTION COMING DECEMBER 2! Our auction of World's Columbian Exposition tickets, paper and ephemera, and also outstanding Civil War paper and ephemera lots, is coming from Heritage Auctions. It was originally scheduled for November 12 and Heritage has announced that this major Americana auction has been rescheduled for DECEMBER 2! We will have more information, including a flyer prepared with details that we're happy to email to all requests. The auction will include 115 lots from Norm Bolotin and The History Bank, a total of more than 300 individual items! We're obviously very excited in that this auction includes our own personal collection of World's Columbian Tickets, one of the finest contemporary collections known. This will be the most complete collection and outstanding to be auctioned since the 1980s. Today's finest collections, including this one, each have numerous unique items or items not known in others. The Bolotin-History Bank collection features several unique pieces for rail travel to the fair, Midway attractions and the only known example of a ticket to the Midway's Camera Obscura, as well as such rarities as tickets to the Whaling Bark Progress, the Oriental Odeon and even ticket number 1 to the Closing Ceremonies. Also in this and a second Heritage auction are many History Bank Civil War items including numerous newspapers covering the assassination of Lincoln, Civil War dog tags, a rare Wallpaper Newspaper, a legal brief in Lincoln's own hand and much more. Please contact us directly for information or visit Heritage's website for information on the December 2 and next spring's auctions. FEEDBACK. We will always leave feedback, although we generally do many at once so we do not do it every day. Please be patient. If you have questions on our other ebay listings please ask. We've been on ebay almost 10 years and in business since 1979. With more than 4,000 net feedbacks, we're working hard to ensure everyone is pleased with what they purchase from us.
