Description
You are bidding on a silver 1 Dollar coin from Canada that was minted in 1964. This coin is a special commemorative coin that was issued to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the city of Charlottetown, Quebec. The obverse of the coin has a bust of Queen Elizabeth II facing right and the reverse has the city seal of Charlottetown with the legend "CHARLOTTETOWN QUEBEC" around the seal and the dates "1864 1964" to the left and right of the seal and the denomination below the seal. This coin is listed as KM#58 in Krause's Standard Catalog of World Coins 1901-2000. In my opinion this coin is in uncirculated condition but please look at the posted photos and make your own determination as to the overall grade of this coin. This coin weighs 23.3276 grams with a composition of 0.8000 silver and an actual silver weight of 0.6000 ounces. With the price of silver at $18.37 an ounce(COMEX-7/3/08) this coin contains $11.02 in silver but is worth more than that for its numismatic value. This is a nice crown-sized coin that will make a good addition to any collection.
