Description
You are bidding on a silver 1 Dollar coin from Canada that was minted in 1958. This coin is a special commemorative coin that was issued to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the founding of British Columbia as a province. The obverse of the coin has a bust of Queen Elizabeth II facing right and the reverse has an image of a large Native American Indian Totem Pole with the dates "1858 1958" and "CANADA" to the left of the pole, "BRITISH COLUMBIA" to the right of the pole and the denomination below the pole. This coin is listed as KM#55 in Krause's Standard Catalog of World Coins 1901-2000. In my opinion this coin is in about uncirculated or uncirculated condition but please look at the posted photos and make your own determination as to the overall grade of this coin. This coin weighs 23.3276 grams with a composition of 0.8000 silver and an actual silver weight of 0.6000 ounces. With the price of silver at $18.37 an ounce(COMEX-7/3/08) this coin contains $11.02 in silver but is worth more than that for its numismatic value. This is a nice crown-sized coin that will make a good addition to any collection.
