The award has been given annually since 1933 to recognize outstanding achievement in the sciences by high school juniors. Award recipients are then considered for scholarships to the University of Rochester. The medal comes in the original fitted presntation wooden case. Please note; this is an earlier edition. Later copies are smaller and do not have the border on the reverse.  This medal measures 50mm x 66mm and weighs 139gm.  See photos.
