Description
3-Day SCD Sale: Ver nice HK404A silver-plated bronze and per the new HK book, an R-5. Tough one to find in quality condition, and frankly, tough to find in any condition. If not for a couple of dings on the rim awhere the silver plating has been blackened a bit from the contact, there'd be nothing to hold this outstanding SCD back at all. If you look at the scans, and it is always a crap shoot wondering how we see them here as scanned and how you see them on your computer, you can see a couple of the little marks on the reverse at the rims, but it is difficult to see anything. We may be boring in our comprehensive descriptions, but we try to use a loupe and go over every bit of a medal, token and coin when offering them for sale. It seems to us that this kind of detail is far more telling than a simple grade. And, as you know, in slabbed pieces where the grade may be a net, you often cannot tell what is wrong or why a coin/medal has been knocked down from say an MS60 to a net of 55. To the naked eye this piece shows no problems with the silver plating at all and frankly, if someone thought it was silver and not plated, the little marks to which we refer would simply be seen as toned silver rather than a ding through the plating. Again, with a loupe we can see some small spots where the plating has been dinged and it shows up as nothing to the naked eye or as a small black mark to the loupe. Quality SCD and a tough one to find. OTHER AUCTIONS ON EBAY: We have a nice group of high grade Civil War tokens, World's Columbian tokens/medals/paper items; So-Called Dollars; 19th century political tokens and much more we've begun to list over the last two week. We're also just sending out our Customer newsletter, Summer edition, 26 pages long and including items for sale as well. The newsletter automatically is sent to current customers and is mailed along with each winning bidder's items. If you would like a copy with information on token and medal rarities and other news this issue, just send us your mailing address. Thanks for looking! SHIPPING: All of our lots are a flat $3.00 for first-class shipping and we combine to save the buyer shipping costs. INSURANCE: Insurance is optional but without it obviously the buyer is at risk should anything be lost or damaged in shipping. Insurance in the ebay system requires only one number, so it is listed at $1.65, the starting price from USPS. Up to $50-$1.65 $50-$100-$2.05 $100-$200-$2.45 $200-$300-$4.60 $300-$400-$5.50 METHODS OF PAYMENT: We accept checks and money orders (personal, bank or business checks are just fine) but we do NOT use PayPal. FEEDBACK. We will always leave feedback, although we generally do many at once so we do not do it every day. Please be patient. If you have questions on our other ebay listings please ask. We've been on ebay almost 10 years and in business since 1979. We strive to ensure that every customer is happy; that's not possible, but please see our feedback rating--more than 4,000 positives. Thanks very much.
