The Panda market has been hot with prices increasing nicely. Many of the pandas that were exported from China have been finding their way home to domestic collectors. Think of the potential price increases for these coins when millions of Chinese want to collect and own them. Adding to the rarity of pandas is the fact that many were sold for bullion and melted down in the mid 90's after Tiananmen Square. Also, with the thousands of pandas that were used in jewerly you'll begin to understand the real rarity of many of the remaining coins. What's the best way to be sure the coin you are buying on eBay is both real and of decent quality? First, buy from a good seller. Check out their feedback and send them a note or give them a call if you have questions. Second, buy an NGC pr PCGS graded coin if you want to be really sure of what you are getting. I've been actively buying coins on eBay and through dealers for the last two years. In those two years, I have purchased over 1000 pandas and have submitted the best to NGC for grading. Third, I recommend buying a graded coin. Pandas that are still in their original packaging can vary widely in quality. When buying a graded coin stick with one graded by either NGC or PCGS. Most other graded coins are simply not reliable and will have poor resale. I'm Donny, the Panda Guy. In the last few years I've been an active buyer and seller of panda coins. My "Surf City" collections are some of the top rated panda registry sets on the NGC collector society site, including the only complete NGC / PCGS collection of proof and MS gold pandas in the world.
