Description
1976-D NGC MS67 Type I Eisenhower Dollar ~ Gorgeous Luster & Superb Rarity!  As of June 30, 2008, we finally established a value on this item; we sold this coin's twin sister (or should I say brother), with consecutive serial number, on consignment at DavidLawrence.com for $5462.50. This is the nicer of the pair, and should be a steal at our opening bid! The present example is blessed with a crisp strike, bright and gorgeous frosty luster, ultra-smooth surfaces, and a lovely, soft golden white patina. Haze and spot free and certainly among the finest Eisenhower dollars in existence, of any date! MUCH RARER than the Type 2 variety, which sells for $2600-$3700. There are 32 MS67s known for the Type 2 (9 at NGC, 23 at PCGS). There are only 8 MS67s known for the Type 1, (6 at NGC, 2 at PCGS)! This is a very rare coin! 1976-D Type I dollars are extremely hard to find nice. Corrosion, discoloration, weak strike, and heavy scraping plague this issue, and MS63 is the norm. Almost never does a brilliant, unmarked 1976-D Type I surface, and only a handful have ever met the requirements of the MS67 grade.  Heritage has never sold a Type 1, and the PCGS price guide lists this date at $11,500.  A Superb-Gem rarity for the finest collection.   RETURN POLICY! If you are unhappy with this coin, for any reason, just send it back in its unopened, original holder, within 5 business days, for a full refund. No questions asked! Just let us know it's coming via e-mail. MANY MORE GREAT COINS LIKE THIS CAN BE FOUND IN OUR EBAY STORE!
