This note is among the rarest of the three - the 1928 series. From the St. Louis Federal Reserve District (letter H, #8), it's rarer still as it rates the GEM Uncirculated 65 grade from CGA, the oldest of the independent, third party grading services. As can be seen in the photos, there's nothing wrong with this note. It possesses good color, even margins, sharp corners, clear borders and the deep embossing requisite of a GEM Uncirculated 65 note. Further, it has an interesting mini-ladder in the serial #H00017345A. Important to any serious collector, as well, are the evenly aligned serial numbers, and the perfect centering of the green seal within "500". Certainly the complete package! I'd like to encourage prospective bidders to closely examine the photos, taken with a 4 megapixel digital camera and not enhanced in any way. They were taken under indirect lighting, with the note placed upright.  The current Schwartz/Lindquist guide to Small-size U.S. Paper Money  gives a value of $5500 for this note in it's grade of GEM65. In the lesser CU60 grade, it's value is given as $3750. That's quite a difference, but I'm going to nevertheless offer this beautiful note on a BIN basis at the CU60 price - $3750!  For the astute collector, this represents an excellent opportunity.
