Description
Very crisp sharp and what appears to be uncirculated $100 FEDERAL RESERVE NOTE with redeemable in Gold notation, Series of 1928.  This is an ungraded, but should be sent for such since it appears to be in uncirculated condition.  In looking at other sales and listings as well as the history on some other sites for sales, this Note appears to have far more value than the asking price and should someone have the knowledge to send it off for grading, could provide a substantial return opportunity.  I am a collector and do not know the first thing about currency; although I am attempting to learn, however, I do realize the significance of a Note of this Series in this condition.  There are absolutely no folds, bends, crinkles, stains, marks or otherwise that I can see. In discussing the piece with a couple currency collectors I have been assured that I should send it for grading and I will be overwhelmed with the difference in value once it receives the anticipated grading of a 63 or better crisp uncirculated grading or choice uncirculated.  I do NOT provide any assurance to you that may be  possible as I do not know enough about the grading guidelines to even guess.  I can only tell you that I can see no imperfections that would prevent a substantially high mark as to what the actual scale is, I am unaware.  I've always been a coin collector and picked up a few pieces of currency here and there due to their dates or significance but would only be guessing about the parameters of grading currency. Due to my own circumstances I feel it is a luxary to have it but have to reassess what is important to me as well as take care of other obligations.  In studying the Freidburg reference guide, this appears to be a design number 229 $100 Note, number 2150-H with a issuance of 187,200 total.  How many of these are in uncirculated condition, I have no idea.  In studying the Grading and Condition specifications, this clearly falls in the uncirculated description and is clearly "crisp"; however, it is my opinion and only my opinion that it would not grade to the Gem or Choice due to the slight off-centering of the right margin, as it appears to be slightly different than that of the left side.  Otherwise, I see no evidence of circulation.  Thank you for looking at this very nice piece and if I may answer any questions about the item I will be more than happy to do so. This is a Federal Reserve Note that is redeemable in GOLD and was apparantly the ONLY year these were done this way.  Please look at the photos as this is a photo of the actual Note you are bidding on and the best I can describe it is that it is an exceptional note as it relates to the condition of it.     For a Buy It Now purchase, I will cover shipping and insurance costs and refund any amount the buyer has paid on the shipping costs.
