Description
This is one of two Texas-Oklahoma, Ninetieth Division, World War One, paper currency notes that I am listing today. This one is a One Hundred Teeohs note. It has the logo of the unit, a capital T and a capital O, in each corner. The information reads "Circus and County Fair, Ninetieth Division, Berncastel Germany, May 1-2, 1919.The image of the soldier with the dog and the woman with child is sharp and clear with good detail. The note is printed on thin, tan paper, and the back is blank. Condition is good, with one light fold down center top to bottom. The Texas - Oklahoma Division was activated in 1917, and sent overseas in 1918. Their major operations were St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne. They were referred to as "Tough 'Ombres." They were returned to the US and inactivated in June of 1919. I assume this County Fair and Circus was a victory event held for the unit in Germany. Thanks for looking. Please check out our other listings and our ebay store. We list an eclectic mix of view, topic, and real photo postcards, other paper and photos. One shipping fee for multiple cards bought in the same week.
