This is a magnificent set of gold proofs issued by the Royal Canadian mint, in 2002. These $5 and $10 coins commemorate the circulation $5 and $10 coins the RCM introduced in 1912. Unlike the sovereigns the RCM was also producing pre WW I, these dollar denominated coins were identical to their U.S. counterparts: the $5 piece weighed 8.36 grams, and were 21.59 mm in diameter. The $10 piece was 16.72 grams and 26.92 mm, and both pieces were minted in .900 fine gold, allpyed with .100 copper. The coins are each encapsulated, and housed in a custom display case. The original descriptive folder and outer slip cover is also provided. The coins are brilliant proofs, and are gorgeous. The quality and workmanship of the RCM are truly world class. Only 2002 of these sets were minted. I can ship the coins world wide, but insured first class mail will only be available within the US. Outside the States will be buyer-risk first class.
