Diameter: 57X40 mm (approx.2") Weight: 40 gr (<.2oz) Edge/Relief: 4 mm France, c. 1910 " AGRICULTURE ", art medal, in silver gilt, signed L.O. Mattei for S Nilson (editor), in excellent condition as scanned, edge marked with horn of plenty* (Paris mint) + "2ARGENT". Obv. man working soil with his plow pulled by oxen; village in background. In legend : AGRICULTURE. Rev. wheat and leaves around cartouche. ABOUT THE ARTIST Louis Octave MATTEI, French sculptor and medallist, born at Van (Maine et Loire). Pupil of Tonnelier. Exhibited at the 1904 Salon.
