This rare 1907 Philadelphia minted Saint Gaudens NO MOTTO Double Eagle has received a high MS66 grade from PCGS. Rich golden mint luster, boldly-struck devices, and superior eye-appeal make this gold piece a very stunning gem! The surfaces are smooth and exhibit a beautiful shine, and both Liberty and the American Eagle look very sharp. This is a top-notch specimen that would make a superb addition to any Saint Gaudens or general gold-type collection. 1907 marked the introduction of the Saint Gaudens Double eagle, a coin that is considered by many to be the most beautiful American coin ever minted. Despite hoarding, less than one percent of the original mintage has survived to grade as high as gem MS66 by either NGC or PCGS. PCGS currently has only 11 1907 Saints ranked higher than this one -- all at MS67, with none rated any higher!
