Description Unbelievable rare beauty.  Offered is a 1900-O over CC in superb gem PCGS MS-65.   This coin is in an old PCGS holder (pre OGH!) and may just be waiting for the right buyer to send it in for an upgrade.  Check out Liberty’s cheek.  A minor mark in front of Liberty’s nose is about all that keeps this coin from perfection.  For the sake of accuracy I note that a small chip is missing from the reverse of the holder.  The chip is from the raised edge, and does not affect the integrity of the holder.Background:  After the Carson City Mint closed for good in 1893, several unused coin dies were sent back to the Philadelphia mint.  Since the New Orleans mint was still pounding out silver dollars, the old CC dies were recycled and sent out to New Orleans.  Fortunately for collectors, the “CC” on several reverse dies was not completely obliterated, leaving a visible trace when the “O” was stamped over it.  This one is a gem.
