Description 1854O Seated Liberty Half Dime in AU-55. The WITH ARROWS Type. O.K. now, considering the mintage this should NOT be a tough date but I can tell you from experience they just aren't out there in any quantity. I have been working on my collection for about 20 years now and JUST found a nice certified AU-58 that was reasonably priced after SEVERAL years of searching on eBay. Chances are right now you can count the 1854-O's that are for sale on eBay on one hand. The pics came out decently but the coin appears a lot sharper in person and shows a little more luster. This piece does have the typical weak reverse strike well known for this date and mint. It is a medium to deep gray in color with the higher parts of the coin being slightly lighter making for a nice contrast. The book on the subject DOES say it's a "slightly better date" but as you probably know, finding them above F-12 ain't that easy! The coin has never been cleaned and is sure to please the serious collector on a budget. Bottom line is it's a nice, uncleaned, full AU-55 coin. eBay does not permit me to list prices from any price guide so you'll have to look it up for yourself. (Sorry.)
