Description
Lot Description: United States1854 ARROWS SEATED LIBERTY QUARTER Stunning Choice XF coin with incredible strike and original toning that really accentuates the coin, a wonderful example for a high end circulated type set! What you see is what you get, click on the coin photos in description below for a much larger view! Note that I offer images of most of my coin lots in two or more different lighting conditions which helps to reveal the coin for you. Some of the coins offered look incredibly beautiful in at least one of the lighting conditions - it sure makes me wonder how all those major auction company coins look in real life when you only see one lighting condition on-line or in a catalog! -------------------------------------Editorial Note: Coin Grading - I was just checking one of the major auction firm's web sites (the one based in Texas) for a state of "market grading" as they do a great job with photos. It is flabbergasting to me that so many coins in the major two grading service slabs are cleaned, without original surfaces and overgraded! The market is clearly stating that lightly cleaned coins are OK (and market grading is much more liberal than traditional technical grading) yet these two services maintain the pretense that they do not grade cleaned coins (except, of course, for ones that have gone through a "curation" or "conservation" process. Well, looking at what sits in those slabs tells a different story to me! The Economy - Nice coins will be with you as long as you want to enjoy them as something that is tangible, historical and enoyable. Quite a wonderful contrast to the sub-prime junk mortgages sliced up into tranches and sold all over the world as "investments", not to mention credit default swaps, derivatives and all the other bogus investments that held up the house of cards as long as it did! Enjoy coin collecting as a peaceful wonderful hobby that can have financial benefits and can let you sleep easier at night!  :-)------------------------------------- U.S.A. FLAT RATE SHIPPING: Buy one or all of my coins for sale this week and pay the same $3.50 first class shipping charge which will include insurance and delivery confirmation! Any "pixelated" effect or glare is caused by the scanner or camera, it is not on the coin! One of numerous coins offered this week, check our other auctions too! I don't like the little bitty images so many provide, how can you really get a good idea of what you are bidding on? This image is much bigger than average, PLUS, click on the image for an even larger view (use back button to return): Grading and guarantee:Satisfaction Guaranteed -  If you believe a coin or other item is not as described simply return it within seven days of your receipt, in the condition sent, for a prompt refund including both your return postage expenses and the initial shipping charge for the items in question. My aim is to provide satisfaction. I want to hear your comments. All books are packaged securely and have been scanned prior to shipment. Please note the grading is a subjective art, despite what leading grading companies would have you believe with their continued watering down and adulteration of grading standards. For example, do you remember when an mid-grade third party graded uncirculated coin was a near flawless coin? Well, back in the early to late 1980s a coin graded in the middle of the uncirculated range was a stunning sight to behold and looks, to me like the typical main stream grading service grades of two or thee points higher today. Yes, there was third party grading with ANACS photo-certificates before the slabs were invented and ANACS was much more conservative back then. Or what about all the cleaned coins (the "spin" word is "conserved") now in thw two major grading service slabs? So many I have seen are obviously cleaned and "market acceptable" it seems like a double standard when lightly cleaned coins come back in body bags when the individual collector submits them.  Look carefully at the images I provide and make your decision based on the appearance of the items to you. Any grades I use in a description is simply my opinion based on my collecting and buying/selling experience since 1971 (Quasar Comics has been around since I formed it in 1982 but I have been collecting and/or buying & selling since 1971.) For a fair evaluation of the "market grade", you should use the currently prevailing market standards to arrive at your value for the coin. Please check our other ebay auctions too: Click Here Shipping and handling: Shipping Calculator: The shipping calculator is provided for your convenience and should give you the maximum shipping cost. If you win more than one lot and use the shipping calculator to figure your shipping, it will overcharge you! You are welcome to do so but would be well advised to wait for my eBay invoice. For non-U.S. shipments the price quoted is probably on the high side for even one lot. This likely overcharge is due to the limitations not addressed by eBay within the shipping calculator. All shipments are packed securely, I always pack your items well for safe and secure shipments. Combine winning lots to save on shipping - if you win more than one item we will let you know the shipping total.  I ship items via USPS only. Shipping Time: I do my best to ship out no later than the Saturday after payment is received if paid by PayPal, money order, or credit card - other payment methods may take longer to clear. I meet or beat this goal 98% of the time. I always e-mail and let you know the day your books are shipped and provide the delivery confirmation tracking number for your convenience.
