Description 1832 O-120A R.4 Unlisted die state 50C ~ NCS AU (58) DETAILS ~  Slider UNC! Scratched. Dipped. (bx236) O-120A is a rare die variety, but this piece is even more elusive because its an unlisted, late die state. Overton states that 120A shows a “die crack from rim just above star 3 to lower chin” and “another from rim across star 12 to curl.” But, this terminally cracked die was broken completely in half when the present example coin was struck, and the crack extend all the way across the bust.    Almost no wear on this borderline Mint State slider; AU58+. Bright white, fully frosted surfaces have been mildly over-dipped, and a few scratches are seen around the eagle’s head. Otherwise clean and posessing a very commanding look, despite the damage. Sharply struck despite no less than 3 large die cracks!  A high grade, R.4 die marriage (76 to 200 known in any grade), and an unusually late die-state make this coin exceptional. RETURN POLICY!
