Description 1827 O-146 Culred Base 2 ANACS XF40 50C ~ Elusive certified problem free!  (bx116) The auction records at Heritage show a plethora of harshly cleaned and otherwise damaged examples of the elusive curled base 2 varieties, with just one single problem free coin sold in recent years, an NGC VF35 that went for $253! This appealing, XF40 example is lustrous in the protected areas and has very pleasing golden yellow patina over the whole coin, with wisps of amber and rose around the peripheries. The pictures don’t show the gold color very well but the amber sticks out. Crisply struck and free from distracting marks, and some mild hairlining doesn’t stand out. Overton lists 49 unique die varieties for 1827; only 2 of those feature a curled base 2! RETURN POLICY!
