This 1824/2 dime is rarely seen in any garde, and I had to pay significnt dollars to acquire it! In fact, I've never had one for sale and PCGS in its 22 years of existence has certified only 40 in ALL grades, with just 3 at this level. This coin won't appeal to Type coin collectors, but bust dime fans should see the opportunity scoop this one up.NOTE: This overdate is ALWAYS weakly struck. I had the opportunity to personally inspect one of only 3 Proofs struck of this 1824/2 dime at the Summer FUN show, and you must remember that proofs are struck two or three times to bring out the detail. Even the Proof-65 I saw had weak hair curls and weak detail in the eagle's wings and talons. Looked more like the detail of an AU-50 coin.
