Description
Offered by Shawn A. Yancey of Earlycoppercoins, EAC #4647. I am pleased to offer this coin from the "Chicago Ark" PCGS registry set, which was nearly 2/3 complete with major large cent varieties from 1793 - 1857 before being consigned to me for sale. The coin offered is an 1801 draped bust large cent, variety S223, which is the one of the fraction 1/000 varieties. This coin has been authenticated and graded by PCGS as EF40 in one of their new blue-label holders. This is a dark brown, sharply struck coin with some planchet roughness that is much more visible in my photos than on the coin itself. This is an incredibly difficult variety in this grade - in fact, the PCGS PRICE GUIDE lists this coin at $4,000. Obverse rim break over RT in LIBERTY, and the error fraction 1/000 is BOLD. Payment by check, money order, or paypal, but payment by check will cause the coin to be held until your check clears. I offer a 3-day, no-questions-asked return privilege, but please bid according to my photos - there should not be any surprises with these coins since they are certified and since I have provided large, high-resolution photographs. Please make sure you check out my other listings - in addition to these 31 coins in the Chicago Ark collection, I also have more than 50 early coppers and type coins in my ebay store, as well as more than a dozen half cents and large cents starting at $0.01 with NO RESERVE! Thank you for bidding - good luck!
