Description Greetings, fellow collectors! I am selling off some of my extras as I upgrade my collection. Thanks for taking the time to look at my auctions. This auction is for: a PROBLEM FREE 1800 Draped Bust Dime grading Fine+. THESE ARE VERY SCARCE! It has an original brownish gray patina and ample detail for the grade assigned, a little more and it would be a VF. It has the typical marks you would expect on a circulated piece of this grade, and in hand it looks much nicer than the poor photos could possibly show. PLEASE NOTE: This coin has a bit of dark tarnish on the left obverse rim that makes it appear to be missing part of the rim- it is only an optical illusion because of the dark background- THE RIMS ARE FULL and completely problem free and the surfaces are smooth with no problems. The surfaces are clear of any corrosion and the rims are clear of any bruises. A very nice piece with a lot of 'meat' for the money, and these just keep going up, up, up, so fill that hole in your type set while it's out here. These early dates are becoming very difficult to find without major damage or heavily corroded, so grab this one before someone else beats you to it. A word on SLABS: I have seen so many misgrades by the major grading services the past couple years, both overgraded and undergraded, that I have lost all faith in them and wonder why anyone would trust their opinion in the first place. And are the 'big boys' trying to tell us you can't get ripped off by buying a PCGS or NGC slab? Sure you can, IF you don't know what you're looking at! It seems to me that the very people they claim to be protecting are the ones most likely to be ripped off when buying their slabs! Why pay them a premium for what amounts to nothing more than a poor opinion at times. Sometimes I think they've been doing their grading at the local bar and grill at happy hour!
