1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar PCGS VF25 Overton-117a - Rarity 4 For sale is a very nice 1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar. Overton-117a. On the Obverse, the Field is unfinished below chin. Mouth is open. Defect line right side of “Y” in Liberty. There is a die crack from edge to bust midway between 5 and star 15. A finer die crack from this one joins top of 95. The Reverse has 9 berries left and 8 right. Four Berries under the right wing (3 berries inside with 1 on the outside - the only reverse.) No adjustment marks on coin. Medium grey color and a nice, smooth example. Very desirable Flowing Hair type coin. Appealing and scarce, these Flowing Hair Half dollars are a delight and bring out some of the charm of early hand engraved dies. Encapsulated and graded VF25 by PCGS with Certification Number: 11472682. Rarity 4 (estimated 81 to 200 examples still existing today.)
